COCONUT CHUTNEY

Preparation Time :  10 Minutes
Serving                  :  6

Ingredients:

  • Roasted Chana dal (Gram dal ) :  50 gms
  • Coconut                                   :   1 cup  (Grated)
  • Tamarind                                 :   50 gms
  • Green chillies                          :   6
  • Red Chillies                              :   2 to 3
  • Rai (Mustard seeds)               :   2 tsp
  • Roasted Peanuts                    :   100 gms
  • Urad dal (Black gram)            :   2 tsp
  • Jeera (Cumin seeds)               :   1 tsp
  • Heeng (Asafoetida)                 :   ½ tsp
  • Curry Leaves                             :   10 to 15
  • Salt as per taste
  • Water
Method:

  • In a Blender….add Roastd Chana dal, Grated coconut, tamarind, green chillies, salt and water .  Grind it smoothly.
  • For the Tempering:  In a small pan add oil, Rai, Jeera, Heeng, Dry Red chillies,urad Dal and curry leaves.
  • Pour this tempering on the above coconut chutney.
  • Coconut chutney is ready to serve with Idli, Dosa, Medu Vad , Upma and many more recipes.
