MYSORE PAK RECIPE – (South Indian Style)
Ingredients:
• Besan (Gram Flour) : 2 Cups
• Sugar : 2 Cups
• Ghee (clarified Butter) : 2 cups ( hot ghee)
• Oil
• Water
Method:
• Take a Pan and dry roast Gram flour till 5 mins. or until the raw smell of Besan goes away. Swith off the flame and take the Besan in a big steel mixing Bowl.
• Now let’s make Sugar Syrup. In a non-stick pan or anodized Pan add 2 cups Sugar . Add around 2 cups of water . heat on a low flame till the sugar forms a one string consistency syrup.
• In a separate Pan – add oil and ghee and heat the ghee till it becomes hot.
• Now add this Ghee slowly in small quantity to the steel bowl containing roasted Besan and keep mixing the Ghee and Besan. Keep this Ghee and Besan mixture aside
• Now check the sugar syrup. When sugar syrup forms one string consistency, add the Ghee and Besan mixture and keep mixing continuously. Keep the flame low and mix well with a big spoon continuously. Now when the mixture becomes thick, add the remaining half cup of hot ghee slowly and keep mixing.
• When bubbles starts and the mixture starts separating from the pan, switch off the flame.
• Grease a plate with ghee by using a brush. Now spread this Ghee – Besan and Sugar syrup mixture on this greased plate. Spread it evenly and let it cool.
• Cut the Mysore Pak in Square shape or desired shape . Remove each Mysore Pak with the help of a fork and keep them in a plate.
• Our Mysore Pak is ready to serve !!!
